How Does VDRL Transmission Takes Place With No Multiple Sex Partners?

Hi, I was treated for VDRL positive during my first pregnancy . Will i ... We both have no other sex partner and no other sexual activity(i can say my self with 100 percent) what is the cause vdrl shows positive in wife . ... Is this test result correct?
And we have did another text of tpha 2 times ,it showed negative so...still afraid ???

I have taken note of your query.
VDRL can be give Biologic falsely positive (BFP) reactivity, specially if it is in low titres. Pregnancy is one of the many causes of BFP test result. Others being viral infections, tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, connective tissue diseases, vaccinations etc
Moreover, VDRL is not a confirmatory test for syphilis. TPHA is a specific test for syphilis and is confirmatory.
Since TPHA has turned out to be negative in you therefore it can be safely assumed that your's was a BFP reactivity during pregnancy showing up as postive VDRL, rather than actually due to syphilis.
