How Does Isolated Appendage Closure Affect The Health?

What are the possible consequences of having an isolated appendage closed. I have had ablation procedures done for a-fib and recently had a mild stroke. No residual effects and i m on Eliquis. My cardio-electrophysologist stated that closing the appendage would reduce the risk of further posssible strokes and that after a TEE to confirm the appendage was not forming clots, I could go off the Eliquis. I am 73 and very active 153 lbs and eat well and exercise daily. Just interested in another set of eyes on this subject....I DO entirely trust my doctor but wanted to make sure I have all the info I need and didn t miss any vital info on the subject.

Hello,

Good, you are recovering from stroke.
Continue the drug Eliquis.
How about your BP/Lipids and Sugar control. If it is normal to maintain.
You are active good but no strain exercise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
