How Early Can Basal Cell Carcinoma Be Diagnosed?

What is the time frame for catching early basal cell carcinoma? I detected a small, about 1/2 centimeter, spot on the side of my nose 3 month ago that I thought was a blemish. It formed a small, about 1/4 centimeter, scab about 2 months ago that was appearing to heal. It did not not go away. I saw a dermatologist last week. She did a biopsy and said that it likely could be BCC, but wasn t for sure. Is this time frame catching it early ? She cut out the area and burned the remaining tissue during the biopsy. Will this procedure be enough to take care of the cancer in the size and time frame I spoke about above? I am worried. It s on the lower portion of the side of my nose where the tissue and cartilage is thin.
