How Early Should A Hysterectomy Be Done For Endometrial Carcinoma?
I have an appointment with an oncology gynecologist tomorrow. I was told by the internist who read my MRI result that I have stage 1b endometrial carcinoma stage. He said I would probably need a hysterectomy. I just wonder how quickly they will want to remove my uterus.
Typically after your initial visit with GYN/ONC, I would say that they might typically get you into the OR within a couple of weeks. Also, while this is presumed to be Stage 1B, uterine cancer, technically, is staged using surgery. The final pathology result and presence of cancer in the lymph nodes, or not, determines the final stage and need for additional treatment. You have a very curable problem - good luck!
I hope that this helps and good luck.
