How Effective Is Nur Isterate Injection In Prevention Of Pregnancy?
Hi, my girl friend presently got the nur-ristarate injection an was told by the nurse that it was okay to have unprotected sex. She has not seen her period going on 1month she took a test that came back negative. She is presently sick an vomiting this possibly due to a virus. She is concern that she is pregnant.. I am not sure if she is pregnant. Can you advise?

if your girlfriend took the Nur-Isterate injection during the first five days of her periods than she is immediately protected and can have unprotected sex. If she took it on some other day, then additional protection (condom) should have been used for (seven days). Since she is having vomiting & has not seen periods, she should have a repeat pregnancy test done.
Nur-Isterate injection provides protection for 8 (eight weeks), after eight weeks the second injection should be taken in time to maintain efficacy. However the second injection cannot be taken if the pregnancy is not ruled out. Get her clinically examined by a gynecologist. If not pregnant she cam take anti emetics, antacids and PPI's for relieve.
