I ve been taking sertraline, buspar and diazepam for clinical depression, OCD and GAD since the late 1990s. These medications are very effective. I recently moved to New Mexico and now do not have my long time physician (15 years). I have what remains of my sertraline and buspar prescriptions (they were 12 month refills), but the diazepam had to be refilled every 90 days. My prescription expired last month and I have been to two doctors now and neither would refill my prescription for diazepam. Their attitudes were horrible and they treated me like a drug addict! Diazepam helps me cope with constant panic attacks and without it I am a mess. I have a professional job and I am very, very effective and capable as long as I have my medication. Without it, the last month, I am not doing well at work to say the least. What should I do? Is there a way I can get a prescription for diazepam from a doctor in Albuquerque who won t treat me like some kind of addict, but rather a person with a mental illness who is functional with the proper medication? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
