Hello,
Thank you posting on HCM.
Keloids are excessive uncontrolled growth of fibrous tissue at site tissue injury.
Treatment approach is dictated by site, cause, duration of keloids. Conservative treatment options include use of potent
corticosteroids and special formulations containing heparin, cepa extract, silicone gel etc under occlusion over keloids. Try this treatment for atleast 3 months. If no response, i would advise addition of intralesional injections of
triamcinolone with or without 5-
fluorouracil every 21 days. Lastly, complete surgical excision, CO2 laser,
cauterization are other options.
Elocon contains mometasone which is a mid potent corticosteroid but i doubt if it alone would br helpful. Consult your
dermatologist and enquire about multimodality treatment.
Avoid scratching/pricking and avoid oral drugs like isotretinoin as it may trigger keloid formation.
Hope this will take care of your issue.
Thank you
