General & Family Physician 's  Response
HELLO,
i can understand the agony you might be facing.
the incubation period that is the time period between the infection and the development of first symptoms for rabies is usually 2 to 12 weeks.
its already been a year since you got scratched by the cat so you can be sure of the fact that you donot have rabies infection.
you can forget about getting rabies.
i would suggest since you have a dog, get it vaccinated if not given previously.
and whenever you get any bites from dogs or any other canines get a post exposure prophylaxis vaccination for rabies as soon as possible.
hope you are happy with my response.
thanks for choosing HCM
