Hello! Thank you for the query. GERD is a disease which you can not simply heal. As its main reason is food stomach acid coming to esophagus due to low muscle tension, you can settle the symptoms but its is really hard to get rid of it. Usually after a monthly treatment, some patients feel relief. 2 months is a time when the medicines can be stopped to see if the symptoms will come back or not. But some patients do not react on regular medicines dosages, there fore there might be a need to increase a dosage of medicines or to perform tests (gastroscopy, long-term pH reading) and surgery (Nissens fundoplication) considered. You should also remember to avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, alcohol, fruit juices, chocolate, coffee. Last meal should be 2 hours before sleeping. Hope this will help. Regards.
