How Frequently Can A Asthmatic Child Undergo Nebulization?

For a seven year old boy, is it safe to use the Duolin respules for nebulization for a period of 4-5 days (for persistent ashmatic cough)? He is already taking flohale 125 mcg (1 puff) in the morning and montek 5 mg at bedtime daily. He is ashmatic for the past 4 years. How often can a child undergo nebulization... Is there any kind of limitation to it?

Rather using Duolin, use plain Normal saline. Continue Flohale, Also add an inhaled Bronchodilator. Your childs Asthma is most likely to get cured once he reaches Puberty. Answer me one querry, Is you child a Premature delivery.

Thank you for responding to my query. At what concentration should the saline water be used? Should it be purchased or prepared at home? Are there any side effects to the long term usage of inhaled steroids? The inhaled bronchodialator is to be used during the attack or on a regular basis?
My child was a full term baby, although he had to be taken out about 15 days earlier because of my high blood pressure. He had atopic dermatitis as an infant... and when the symptoms subsided, he developed asthma.

Ya your child needs to take a combination of inhaled bronchidilator with an inhaled steroid. Also add up syp. Acebrophylline 50 mg twice daily till he reaches puberty. It will mature his lungs if they are not so. Buy a Normal saline bottle from a medical shop and use its nebulization in emergency.

hi parent
you can go as frequent as the child requires but it is not advisable for frequent medication try to prevent the episodes and avoid the precipitating causes like exposing to cold, ice creams, dust etc.
