General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Asthalin can be given 3-4 times per day if severe shortness of breath is present otherwise twice daily is enough. Steroid inhalation or Budecort should be twice daily maximum. She may need cough suppressant orally like ammonium chloride containing cough syrups. Steam inhalations generally can be given frequently.

If sputum is scanty and doesn't get expectorated, N acetyl cystine sachet can be used to break the mucous plugs. Monteleukast sachet should be given for 15-20 days at night for cough variant asthma.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Regards,
