hi - i just had my blood work done and I have a cholesterol level of 241 // HDL 69- I excercise and eat healthy but this level seems to me in the very unhealthy zone - could I have a genetical predisposition given my dad and granddad both had high cholesterol??

Hello thanx for using hcm,
you should take low fat diet , avoid all the saturated and trans fat sources which makes your cholesterol worst.
.Its mostly genetical too any parent having impaired cholesterol metabolism is inherited and it causes increase in cholesterol level it will be better to start lipid lowering medicine along with controlled diet.
