How Is A Pinched Nerve Different From A Pulled Muscle?
HOW DO I DETERMINE IF I HAVE A PINCHED NERVE OR PULLED A MUSCLE? I BELIEVE I WENT TOO HEAVY ON DOING SOME TRICEP LIFTING AFTER BEING OFF FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, BUT ONCE i FELT THE PAIN LAID OFF FOR A WEEK. THEN WENT TO THE GYM YESTERDAY AND SAME PAIN ALL OVER AGAIN. MY PAIN IS FROM ELBOW DOWN THE FOREARM AND HURTS TO LIFT SOMETHING AS SMALL AS A COFFEEPOT OR EXTENDING MY ARM.

Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand it. * Symptomatically- Pinched nerve is due to compression or pinching of nerve by pressure applied by b nearby bone, cartilage , muscle or tendon, swollen tissue around it.The symptoms include tingling, numbness or burning pain in affected area, sharp agonizing pain or weakness of muscles supplied by the nerve. * Muscle pull is over stretching or tearing of muscle after over use.It causes pain in muscle to limit it's movements. You seem to have muscle pull due to overexerting while weight lifting. .. restricting lifting movement. Simple muscle strain mostly gets well after hot/ cold packs, rest or anti inflammatory medicines ( Ibuprofen ) over the counter.Muscle tear needs expert care after investigations like MRI to confirm the site & extent of tear. . Thanks
