How Is Diabetes Treated?
Hello Dr.
I want to ask about my dad (age 54 years). He is suffering from diabetes for more than 20 years as well as he has b.p. problem. Now since few months he is feeling breathing problem. There was swelling in his legs.His weight is now reduced badly (from 60 to 40 kg). Doctor are saying that his heart is working 50% less than normal heart. Dr. are taking the matter very lightly. Please suggest us what should we to re-gain his good health & for which tests or other we should go for?

relax there is Notting to feel bad.
your dad is loosing weight because of uncontrolled diabetes.
breathing problem is due to poor pimping capacity of heart that will recover with drugs.
I suggest to check his Hba1c and consider starting insulin.insulin will improve his pumping capacity also.
with insulin he will have good weight gain and regain his health.
check for renal function test also
I suggest to meet a good cardiologist
he will be good in no time.
