How Is Follicular Study Performed?

I have PCOS. We are trying to conceive. I am on Obimet. After having Meprate, got my periods today. My doctor suggested I go in for a Follicular study on the 12/13th day of mensus. How is it done? Also, when & where is the Ovutrig 5000 / HUCOG shot given - would it hurt?

1.Follicular study is to monitor the dominant follicle in both the ovaries and measured the largest measurement and its followup until gets ruptured.
2.The day of rupture patient is asked to have intercourse and hormonal treatment is done.
3.The average measurement of the dominant follicle should be 13 - 17mm for any one to conceive.
4.The scan is performed trans vaginally for better visualisation of the ovaries and follicles.
5.No it will not hurt, Get it done with empty bladder. Good luck.
