How Is Liver Cirrhosis Treated?

Ok I have a brother who has been taken to the hospitalwith bleeding from his liver. He has hepitatis c and cirrhosis . He said they did a procedure called PIP but I cant seem to find anything related to those letters. He was very weak when we talked so he may have the letters wrong. Any ideas?

Hi,

The blood in vomit could be due to hematemesis that is ruptured esophageal varices. It is due to portal hypertension. The TIPSS is one of such surgical procedure to decrease portal hypertension. The beta blocker drug also can be prescribed
