Coughing out blood is known as
hemoptysis.
Pulmonary embolism is not a common cause for hemoptysis.
More common causes for hemoptysis are bronchitis, pneumonia,
tuberculosis, bronchiectesis,
lung cancer etc.
You are still having hemoptysis, so better to
consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out tuberculosis, pneumonia and lung cancer.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
Quit smoking as soon as possible if you are smoker.
So first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright.
