Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I had an IUI procedure this past Tues the 6th and my first hormone check done today came back with Progesterone at 39.2 and Estradil at 1064. I m not sure what I should be looking for in levels if you can help. I have two more hormone checks on 7/15 and 7/20 for my final pregnancy check so just wanting some info on the early after IUI stage if possible, thank you! Andrea
Progesterone levels rise after ovulation and peak 5 to 9 days after your luteal phase–which occurs during the second half of the menstrual cycle, after ovulation occurs.
So progesterone level is usually checked six to eight days after you ovulate (about day 21 of a day 28 cycle). After the mid-luteal period, your blood progesterone levels will begin to fall if the egg is not fertilized.
If your progesterone level is elevated within a certain range during the luteal phase, it likely means you are ovulating.
Serum progesterone concentrations of more than 10 ng/mL indicate normal ovulation and below 10 ng/mL suggest anovulation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
