How Is The Herpes Cold Sore Virus Transmitted?
Can the herpes cold sore virus be transferred after sucking on a toy belonging to a boy who has coldsores. It is not known when the boy last touched the toy or whether the boy had recently touched his coldsore. I have read that the cold sore virus cannot live long outside the body and if it was present on the toy would not be able to survive.

Any virus cannot survive outside for longer time. Viral infections usually spread by direct contact or its airborne.
