How Long After A Preputioplasty Does The Foreskin Take To Heal?

How long does foreskin take to heal after a preputioplasty? I had a preputioplasty done 7.5 months ago and though it has gotten much better, it is still a little red and plump. I can retract it easily and there is still smegma underneath the skin but it washes away easily as well. The only problem is that my foreskin hasn t returned back to normal, how long will this take?

Hi,

It may vary from person to person. On average, it will take 6-12 weeks to heal completely. But in the case of catgut sutures, they may take time to absorb and it may cause discomfort.

Smegma formation is normal phenomenon so don't worry.

If you have any redness or pain then you may consult your treating surgeon, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
