How Long After Having Missed Periods Can I Take A Pregnancy Test?

Hi, I started my period on April 4. I had unprotected sex on the 10th and took plan B that day which caused me to have my period 5 days later on the 15th. My period ended on the 20th and I had unprotected sex for about 10 seconds a few days after that. I want to take a pregnancy test because I have been feeling weird lately but that might be due to the birth control I started last week. I know it says you can take a pregnancy test the day after your missed period, however, since I took plan b and I had a period twice this month, I don t know which period I should be taking into consideration here. When should I take a pregnancy test?

Pregnancy tests can detect the hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in urine and blood as early as 6 days after fertilization. Urine pregnancy test is 99% accurate if the instructions are followed correctly. The last or the latest period is to be considered and if you miss that the next month, you can go for pregnancy test. If you want the results quicker you can go for blood tests that detect hCG as early as within 10 days of conception.
