How Long After Salmonella Infection Is Drinking Safe?

I contracted salmonella while traveling in UK. This is day 3, and I seem to be on the back end of this mess. Still have GI issues, but fever seems gone. I'm taking probiotic Florastor to help with GI. Is there a period of time I should wait to consume alcohol after I'm in the clear? I don't believe I got the strand causing Typhoid Fever, and it seems one should wait several weeks before consuming alcohol, but I didn't know if the same is true for milder cases.

dear,
Typhoid is an intestinal infection, which in severe cases can cause perforation of intestine.
Alcohol is a gastric irritant as well, and in chronic uses may lead to gastric and duodenal ulcer, which may complicate into perforation.
Therefore, here as we can see both conditions insult the GI system in a similar manner.
However consumption of low quantity of alcohol shouldn't be harmful, especially if you are taking it on regular basis for prolonged duration. In that case, abrupt stoppage of drinks may precipitate withdrawal symptoms. Here again it depends on the amount, and since how long and how frequent you have been consuming alcohol is imp to asses.
Regarding typhoid infection, I would need to know, if this is for the first time you have had it or no.
are you still having fever?
is there bleeding in stools, are having coffee colored stools?
I'll need to see your complete haemogram profile?
information regarding above would greatly help, as I'll get an idea about severity of both conditions to be in a position to make any kind of definitive advice.
I hope to have helped you with your concern.
thank you
