Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain

My 9 year old daughter is suffering from severe abdominal cramps. I believe it may be salmonella, as we have small turtles. She barely eats, drinks, and is sleepy all the time. Would you consider this a severe case? Should I rush her to the hospital or make a doctor appointment?

Hi,

Being sleepy all the time sometimes could mean meningitis also. Is she photophobic with neck rigidity? If so, please rush to the ER or otherwise if she is having severe abdominal pain she requires immediate medical attention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
