HI my daughter is 19 yrs old and taking cyproheptadine, lysine vitamin syrup to increase her appetite. It worked beautifully she has gained 30 lbs and finally reached her goal weight. She is afraid to stop because she may lose her appetite again. My question is ...how long can you stay on this syrup?
L-lysine hydrochloride was provided in titrated doses of 8 to 46 mg/kg (average, 22.7 mg/kg) daily divided 3 to 4 times per day to avoid GI adverse reactions for a mean of 30 months (range, 6 to 60 months).
