How Long Can Metronidazole And Ciprofloxacin Be Taken?

Hello, I have a 28 yr old son who broke both lower bones in his right leg... all repairs have been made and he is walking, showing NO signs of infection, never has, but he has been put on metronidazole and ciprofloxacin... they say they intend to keep him on them for ONE YEAR.

Hello,

Your son may be having a deep-seated infection. I don't I have not seen antibiotic regimen for years together. Only if it is tuberculosis I have heard the regimen for years. if any person with sepsis then it has to be taken.

I do not know what condition your son is but as far I know antibiotics are taken 2 to 4 weeks only. For deep-seated infection, antibiotics can be taken 2 to 4 months only not more than that.

Maybe I am wrong also. Kindly ask your doctor only about it once.
