Post coital contraceptive pills or emergency contraceptive pills are to be taken within 72 hours of indulging into unprotected sex. As you have taken the pills within 72 hours, it helps to prevent unwanted pregnancy in most of the cases.
Secondly, you need to take the pills only once in the concerned cycle and if you happen to have sex activity afterward, you or your partner needs to use some other contraceptive methods like condom.
A word of caution: Please seek advice from your treating gynecologist before taking emergency contraceptive pills. Emergency contraceptive pills are to be taken only occasionally, and only if you happen to have unprotected sex activity in the fertile period of the cycle.
In a woman with a regular cycle, day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of the cycle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
