How Long Do The Effects Of Propranolol Remain?

I have a very stressful event coming up tomorrow and I was thinking about taking propanolol. There is no specific time for this event. Just somewhere between 8-5 am. Between this time-frame I have to do public speaking as well as a technology test at the same time. How long do the effects last as i don t know when exactly I will be called upon.?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there. I have read through your question and understand that you want to avoid anxiety while delivering your speech. But propranolol is a Beta blocker which is used to control heart rate in heart patients. I don't think it will help in your situation. What you need is a tranquillizer to calm you down. You can talk to your physician regarding it as it is a prescription drug. I hope I was able to answer your question. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact.
I find this answer helpful
