so i recently talked to the army today and if i do decide to go into the military i have to go through meps. now im worried because i took 50 mg of Amitriptyline 2 nights ago and i was just wondering how long it will take for that dosage to leave my system? the only other pill ive taken recently is adderal. i also want to know how long it takes to exit your system? They will make me take a urine test.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant drug and the drug is a prescription drug. The drug is not a controlled substance and I dont think its tests are included in preemployment screening in army, though I am not 100% sure. Still if we go by half life of the drug (10-50 hours) then the drug usually takes about 4-5 days to clear from body.
Adderall is a controlled substance and the drug screening tests are used in preemployment tests. The tests can detect the drug in unto 10-14 days of last use in blood and urine tests usually detect the drug for unto a week. Taking plenty of fluids, citrus fruits, cranberry juice etc help in early elimination.
Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
