my 85year old dad taking ciprofloxacin 2 times a day how long 4 it to kill the bugs plz he has been sick for 5 days sore right side of back runs on saturday sicked up sunday went hospital sunday just gave panadal and no spew pill said was virul infeshen still not right monday went doctors they gave codien by tuesday dad cant walk still in pain went doctors wed then they finally give antibotes what could it be he pelvie xray

Hello,

He might have a lower respiratory tract infection. He needs to be given antibiotics for atleast 7 days.

If still no improvement than chest X-ray and spirometry should be done for further workup.
