Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a nurse. I got scabies from patient and I am to take ivermectin. I also have been taking 2.5mg of diazepam for sleep every night for over a year. I saw that Ivermectin is a contraindication with diazepam. How long do I have to wait for the diazepam, to get out of my system so I can take the ivermectin treatment safely? thank you :)
Well we can not tell the exact pin point times about the duration for what diazepam stay in the system . Because it depend upon many factors like how much you take and for how long. Also your health, age, weight and metabolic rate play a part.
It can stay approximately for 3-5 days . So if you are experiencing problem then stop the use of diazepam immediately , drink plenty of fluid so that it can flush out little fast and consult doctor if the condition is getting worse like skin rashes , dizziness and difficulty in breathing .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Dr. Harry
