How Long Does Lisinopril Take To Lower BP?

Hello. I don t know if I took my blood pressure pills tonight? I was distracted and may have forgotten. It would have been 9:15pm when I took them (if I did). So, I started taking my blood pressure to see if it was coming down. The question is: How long does it take for the Lisinopril to start lowering the blood pressure? Mine has gone up 3 points since 9:15.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The onset of action of lisinopril is approximately 1 hour but the effect peaks at approximately 6 hours.
This means that after an hour, there may be a slight reduction but this intensifies by hour 6.

If you are anxious, this would have an effect on your blood pressure.

You can check it 1 to 2 hours after you think you may have taken the medication.

Consider a pill box with the medication set out for the week, this would help you to know whether the dose was used for the day.

I hope this helps
