How Long Does Lithium Stay In The Body?

I was prescribed Lithium for bipolar. How long does the average person stay on it. He has me on 500mg. 3x a day with 0.25 xanex. My first visit, I was told long term, but not for ever. Today he said as long as I want to feel better. I really don t stay on anything very long. I mostly to homoeopathics when posible.

Generally, bipolar is a severe and persistent illness. The treatment of bipolar disorder is directly related to the phase of the episode and the severity of that phase. So it will be better to follow as your doctor says.
