How Long Does Methadone Stay In The Body?

The clearance half-life of methadone averages 30 hours, which means that half of the dosage is cleared out via kidneys for 30 hours. Methadone typically can be detected in urine for 2-4 days after use and its detection could be up to 7 days some times up 12 days. The longest detection time period is from the hair sample, which could detect methadone use up to 90 days.
