How Long Does A Heart Stent Last When Diagnosed With 100% RCA Blockage?
I m a male and 54 years old. I had a heart attack on 5/11/16 with 100% blockage of my RCA. They put in a stent and said there did not appear to be any damage. I started cardio rehab offered by the hospital and on my second week my heart monitor showed I was in Vtach for a period of time while working out. 4 days later my heart doctor got me back in the cath lab and checked everything again saying everything looked great. He thinks I must have had some damage affecting the electrical system in my heart. He has referred me to an EP doctor for a consult on Friday. What is the likelyhood he will want me to have an ICD?
usually only four to five years after stenting and indicate that the risk of re-obstruction is generally about 1 to 2 percent for either type of stent. ICD- implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.
It is used to continuously monitor the cardiac activities and report the electrical problems soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
