how long does a pilonidal cyst inscision takes to heal? now dressing with megaheal ointment not completely healed. surgery not done .inscision done and pus drained on 31/10/2017.sometimes beeding and slight discharges

A pilonidal cyst is seen when the skin near the anus forms a cyst that becomes pus filled. This may need drainage and this can get infected.

Most types of pus and infection and wounds would take up to 2 weeks to heal.

Here are a few things that are suggested after a surgery. Avoid picking and squeezing the wound. Avoid infecting the area by touching the wound as well.

Many people find sitting in a sitz bath useful as well. Along with this, getting a clean and balanced diet and drinking lots of water can be useful.
