Hello,

The arm movement limitation is in concern with residual weakness post stroke condition. The recovery period depends upon the actual area of impact at the time of stroke (which may be hemorrhagic or ischemic). On an average if the area of lesion of brain region is large enough, then much time is taken for the recovery of neurological weakness which may last for months to years as well.

However, if the lesion area is of small to moderate amount, recovery seems faster within days to months. I would like to re address the issue with your all reports of previous and current MRI scans for better co relation on clinical grounds.

Till that time, I can suggest that as you are able to walk with support now, be sure that arm movement will also revert back to normal within some time span. Have patience and be in regular follow up with Dr DIPTI VIBHA.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
