How Long Does Blood Clot In Lungs Take To Heal?

Evey morning we usualy walking 40 munit month ago my wife started breatheless after on th way we walk back to home , then last week our Dr send my wife to Hospital for Lung CT scan after resulted in Lung blood clot Dr in Hospital treatment my wife the medication is XARELTO We very worry ,please Dr tell us can my wife recovery and how long she will treatment with medication Thankyou very much

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Your wife is having pulmonary embolism ( clots in pulmonary vessels).
In this disease atleast 6-8 months of blood thinner (anti coagulant) treatment is needed.
After this repeat CT PULMONARY ANGIOGRAPHY should be done.
And need for further anti coagulant treatment is based on follow up CT report.
If embolism is still present then another 6-8 months treatment is required.
