How Long Does Extreme Pain In Ruptured Ear Drum Last?

I have a ruptured ear drum and I am in extreme pain how long will the pain last?
I am on the third day of a week long course of antibiotics and have otomize ear spray. I'm also taking 500mg of co-codamol and ibuprofen which hardly dulls the pain at all.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have extreme pain in ruptured ear drum last . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons , but n your case the symptoms are due to rupture eardrum . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . If the condition is not geeting better with antibiotics then doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics or recommend surgery like tympanoplasty . For now keep your ear dry , cover it while bathing and apply dry warm compresses to external ear .
