How Long Does Fever Caused After Reclast Infusion Last?

This is my second infusion of reclast. It was administered the morning of January 19th. I started having "the flu " symptoms on Sunday Evening the 22nd. How long can I expect to feel feverish, have joint pain (mostly in my knees) and have flu like symptoms and when do I call my Endocrinologist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Reclast its a bisphosphonate which is to be given as slow infusion thats about 5-6 hrs for 100ml, and the most common side effect is flu like symptoms.

These flu like symptoms usually subside in 1-2 days and its very rare to have symptoms beyond 5days.

If the symptoms do not subside even after 1 weak after infusion then there is a need to check with endocrinologist.

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks
