How Long Does It Take For Broken Femur To Heal In A Lady Of 91 Having Osteoporosis?
Mom is 91, has osteoporosis, and broke her femur. She has been a week in the hospital after surgery and can feel pressure only from her hip to her ankle. She has stood twice, but put no weight on her hurt leg. She will soon go to a rehabilitation home and will work very hard to be able to live alone again. We need an rough idea of when she will return home and how far along in recovery she will be then.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, ideally orthopedic injuries takes 4 to 5 weeks for healing but it is all depends upon the immune system and general condition of patient and it could be little late in geriatric patient, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
