Have been recently diagnosed w/ Graves Disease---runs in family and has not been of any concern until lately (apparently borderline in my case)...but recently my bp is routinely 170/116, have lost 20 lbs and I find my full-time teaching (college) job to be exhausting now...time for medication???
Hello, Thank you for asking on HCM! First i would like to know when did you check the hormonal level for the last time? If it was before you had these symptoms than you must check it again now and we can say that it is hyperthyroidism only when the hormonal level is over the normal ranges. Otherwise another cause should be found for your symptoms. I would recommend you also to check the anti TSH receptor antibodies, if they level is high than you should stay under close monitoring of the hormonal level. Hope i was somewhat helpful. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
