How Long Does It Taken To Recover From A Kidney Stone Removal Surgery?

I am 86 years old, wheelchair bound with MS, pulmonary fibrosis, recently have C-dif, and UTI. I will have numerous kidney stones removed from an incision in my lower right back in five weeks. What should I expect during recovery: approximately how long, and normal amount of pain following surgery. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The recovery times vary for each procedure but most patients are fully recovered within six weeks and can resume their normal activities.

Many patients feel much better the first week, but care must be taken to assure that healing is complete.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
