How Long Does Mild Dosage Of Propranolol Stay In The Body?
Hi, Can you be kind and let me know , if I take propranolol 80mg a day, for how long will stay in my blood?? Tomorrow i will take my first pill and I m bit concerned about sides effects of this drug, Also what can happen if the next day I will not take the drug, will affect my migraine and my heart beat?? Hello,
I have made many patients over the years on propranolol for migraine prophylaxis. Generally speaking, in most patients, I have found that propranolol stays in their system about 1-2 days especially at that dose. If someone has been on this medications for some time, then stopping it suddenly or even missing a dose can cause some side effects.
These include palpitations of your heart, sweating and return of your migraine symptoms. It is always advisable that if your physician ordered a medication to be taken daily that this be done or you physician be informed if you plan on stopping any medication. In these events I have generally tapered the dosage down slowly so as to avoid any negative symptoms.
