Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Long Does Numbness In The Limbs Take To Heal After Treatment?
I was diagnosed with Vit B12 deficiency, 3 1/s months ago. My symptoms were a B12 score of 320 and numbness in both legs, feet, partial right arm and three middle fingers of the same arm. I started with one week of daily 1000mcg B12 Cynocobalamin injections. I then went to one injection per week along with 2000mcg lozenges each day. I just started 5000mcg of Methylcobalamin injections, from a compounding pharmacy and 5000mcg lozenges.... I felt lie I was improving....but two days ago...my left left became cold and as numb as before...toe to top of thigh. I am discouraged and wonder how long it tajes nerves to heal and what could start my one leg and three fingers to go bac to the worse state of numbness. I have nnot found a Dr./neurologist who is knowledgeable in this. I need guidance.
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a pinched nerve.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist and performing nerve conduction studies and a lumbar spineMRI study to examine for any possible bulging discs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
