How Long Does Pancreatitis Take To Get Cured?

I am home from hospital following admission for acute pancreatitis. In hospital it was treated by IV Fluids and pain meds. Reintroduced liquids after three days, and went home fifth day to bed rest and pain control with oxycodone every 4-6 hours. Also advised to take colace and Scenekot. I am eating a normal but fat reduced diet. Bowels are movingth day at home, I have reduced pain meds by cutting them in half, and I am taking 1/2 pill 5-6 hours. How long will this last? Can I assume that pain reduction means that the pancreas is recovering? What else can I do to hasten recovery?

Hello,

The pancreas is main endo and exocrine gland of the gut so in acute pancreatitis give rest to the pancreas is the best way to reduce inflammation and get better take carbohydrate diet and less fatty foods.

Avoid alcohol which is a leading cause of pancreatitis, nothing much is necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
