How Long Does Provera Take To Stop Bleeding?

Hello, I am a 39 year old woman. I have had very regular periods since I was 12 years old. I have been having my period now for about 7 weeks. I had a Gyno exam and was given Provera to take SID for 10 days. Is it suppose to stop my period? Tomorrow will be day 7 of taking the pills. When can I expect the bleeding to stop? I was told if I am still bleeding after 10 days I will need an ultrasound . Of coarse I will do that but what , in detail should I be expecting from the pills?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
You are aged 39 years , these days women are becoming premenopausual, may be due to anemia, or infection.
Provera is medroxy progesteron a good drug to stop the bleeding, but you may need to have at the dose of 2 times daily.
If other wise the the ultrasoung may reveal the fibrids, endomatriosis, etc.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, mefanamic acid250.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
