Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son has had a blood transfusion - and is now jaundice. He has been off alcohol for 4 years and his liver has recovered. Is the jaundice a concern or will it clear on its own? He is 39 years old. No infections, he just retained fluid and had to be admitted for that and his blood count was low so they gave him blood. He looked ok this morning but looked jaundice when I visited this evening. He was discharged from hospital yesterday. No fever - is the liver slow to recover?
Hello, It depends upon the cause of the jaundice. He needs to see a doctor as soon as possible and get some blood tests done to determine the cause. Please get him to a doctor soon. Regards
