How Long Does Sensitivity To Light Last Post Sustaining Brain Concussion?

It s been a bit over 3 weeks since my 13 year old sustained a brain concussion. She s been at home resting ever since with no using of eyes to read or use electronic devices. She is still greatly bothered by light and wears dark glasses. Some dizziness, still. Less head pain, now. Still, black circles under eyes. She has had medical evaluation. How long can all this last?

Assuming that she only sustained a concussion and had no other injuries (like bleeding in or on the brain), she may have some of these symptoms for a course of weeks to months. The symptoms that you describe are very typical after a concussion and may take a very long time to improve, however, gradually they should improve slightly until they have resolved.
