How Long Does Treponema Pallidum Stay In The System?
I had syphillis 22 years ago and got treated. I just found out I m 13 weeks pregnant and the Dr did some labs my RPR was reactive 19 and my Treponema pallidum was also reactive 1.1 . They told me I got to get treated for syphillis because I m positive . I also have lupus and my husband test negative . But , they telling me the baby could get syphillis but I don t have any signs of syphillis and they telling me it can stay in my body for years and still pass to the baby . I don t understand I was treated years ago and the test will always come back positive because I had it before . Please can you help this is crazy

I really appreciate your concern, if this was the history of syphilis and being treated successfully then it is nothing to worry chances of transmitting the disease in fetus is very less likely, stop worrying hope this information helps.
