General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Most people need 7 to 14 days.
It is unfortunate that you were misdiagnosed it for Dengue during your stay in India. If typhoid fever is diagnosed in its early stages, a course of antibiotic tablets are prescribed for about and it will take two weeks to recover from the infection. But while on antibiotics, the fever should decrease in intensity.
Make sure that you complete the course of antibiotics because incomplete course leads to relapse of typhoid.
Hope this helps.
